Apple mistelles : the story behind apple mistelles is one made out of traditions. In the old age, at harvest season, cider apple juices are mixed with brandy to preserve their flavors throughout the year and stop their fermentation. The principle of mistelle was born. This involves the mutage – mixing – of apple must – cider apple juice – with cider brandy. These blends age in oak or chestnut barrels to produce delicious spirits.
Cider brandy : fine extra-dry Séhédic cider is distillated and yields brandy, which captures the essence of cider apples from Bretagne. Our brandies are then aged in oaks barrels until the ultimate stage of bottling.
Apple juice : our juice are particularly appreciated, prepared with the right combination of cider apples, no sugar nor preservatives added, they reflect the freshness and vitality of natural apple juice. 100% pure juice.
Cider vinegar : our ciders, once ready, continue fermenting slowly in a special room dedicated for the production of vinegar. The acetic fermentation then happens, and takes a long time! 2 years are necessary for us to transform our apples in cider vinegar. But it’s worth the wait! And our clients seem to agree. Cider vinegar is amazing in salads or sauces, and it also has quite a few nutritional virtues to itself : boosting of your immune system, or cutback of the glycemic index of your food intake, amongst others…
Each and everyone of these products is the result of experience and know-how acquired these past decades. These unique products are also the opportunity to discover and enjoy the authenticity and depth of the Terroir from Bretagne.
